Before booking anything, it’s reasonable to want to know what you’re actually signing up for. Here’s a straightforward look at what working with ValYou looks like in practice.
It’s virtual
Sessions happen online, from wherever you are — no commute, no waiting room, no fluorescent lighting. For a lot of clients, being in a familiar, sensory-comfortable pace makes it easier to actually show up and engage.
You don’t have to perform “okay”
There’s no expectation of forced eye contact, sitting perfectly still, or presenting a polished version of what’s going on. Stimming, tangents, and direct communication are all welcome. If you need to think out loud to get somewhere, that’s part of the process, not a detour from it.
It starts with you, not a checklist
The first sessions are about understanding your actual situation — what’s going on right now, what’s felt hardest, what’s already been tried. Self-identification is honored from the start; no diagnosis is required to begin.
Already feeling over-extended, we have non-traditional hours
Many of my clients have a variety of responsibilities and prior commitments. That’s exactly why ValYou offers non-traditional hours. We want to meet you where you are– not only in life, but also logistically.
